Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

555 Notebook is operated from Malaysia by 0x_wzhenkai, the developer identified on our Google Play listing ("we", "our", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using the 555 Notebook mobile application and related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

555 Notebook is a travel expense splitting application that allows users to:

• Create trips and invite friends to join
• Upload and scan receipts using AI-powered text extraction
• Claim individual items from shared receipts
• Track expenses and calculate fair splits
• Record settlements between trip members
• Export trip data as CSV or PDF files

3. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for:

• Providing accurate and complete registration information
• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

4. Credits and Purchases

4.1 Free Features

The following features are always free:

• Manual receipt and expense entry
• Item claiming and splitting
• Settlement tracking and balance calculation
• Editing receipts and expenses
• CSV & PDF data export
• Joining unlimited trips
• Push notifications
• Offline mode

4.2 Credit System

Certain actions require credits:

• Creating a trip — 1 credit
• Scanning a receipt with AI — 1 credit
• Duplicating a trip — 1 credit

You receive 10 free credits upon registration. Additional credits can be purchased through Google Play Billing. Credits do not expire while your account remains active, have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and are forfeited when your account is deleted.

4.3 Referral Bonus

You may invite others using your unique referral code. When a new user registers with your code and creates their first trip, both you and the referred user receive 5 bonus credits. Referral credits are granted at our discretion and may be withheld or reversed in cases of fraud, self-referral, or abuse of the credit system.

4.4 Purchases and Refunds

All credit purchases are processed through Google Play. You may request a refund from Google Play under its refund policies. For purchase problems or requests outside Google's self-service window, contact us at contact@notebook555.com; where appropriate, we can investigate and process a refund through Google Play, subject to Google Play's tools, these Terms, and applicable law. Refunded or reversed purchases may result in the corresponding unused credits being removed from your balance.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Upload content that is offensive, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its servers
• Upload malicious files or content designed to exploit the receipt scanning feature
• Create multiple accounts to abuse the free credit system
• Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service

6. User Content

You retain ownership of the content you upload (receipt images, expense descriptions, trip names). By uploading content, you grant us a limited license to process, store, and display it as necessary to provide the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring that content you upload does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

The app lets users report trips, expenses, receipts, or other users that they believe violate these Terms. We review reported content and may remove it, suspend or terminate the responsible account, or take other action at our discretion. We do not guarantee that reported content will be removed, nor that we monitor all content proactively.

7. AI Receipt Processing

The AI receipt scanning feature uses third-party AI gateways and model providers to extract and, when needed, translate text from receipt images. The selected provider may vary based on price and availability and is governed by that provider's terms. While we strive for accuracy:

• Extracted data may contain errors and should be reviewed before use
• We are not responsible for financial decisions made based on AI-extracted data
• Users should verify all amounts, items, and totals after scanning

8. Trip Management

• Trip owners can manage members, transfer ownership, settle, and archive trips
• Settled and archived trips are automatically deleted after 30 days
• Inactive trips (no activity for 90 days) may be automatically deleted
• Deleted trips and their associated data (receipts, images, expenses) cannot be recovered

9. Account Suspension and Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or abusive behavior
• Attempt to exploit the Service or its credit system

You may delete your account from the app settings. If you own a trip with other approved members, you must first transfer ownership to one of them so the shared trip is not orphaned. Upon deletion, your identifying account information, unused credits, credit transaction history, and raw purchase tokens are removed. We retain only a one-way purchase-token fingerprint, without your user or account ID, to prevent duplicate grants. Financial records in shared trips are preserved under "Deleted User" to maintain balance integrity for other members.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
• We are not responsible for the accuracy of AI-extracted receipt data
• We are not liable for disputes between trip members regarding expenses or settlements
• Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid for credits in the past 12 months

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability, remedies, or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.

12. Modifications to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Where required, we will give additional notice before a material change takes effect. Changes do not reduce rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Malaysia will have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer protections or rights to bring a claim in another forum under applicable law.
